I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Atlassian (Mountain View, CA) in Mar 2019
Interview
Atlassian recruitment team is great. The best recruiters I have seen in terms of follow-up and prompt replies.
Interview Experience:
Been to Mountain View office for an onsite interview. The first round started with a coding question. Surprisingly, they did not ask any Leetcode or algorithm problem, unpredicted question :).
The second round was an algorithm question, Interviewer did not have much patience and he did not allow the interviewer to think and after a little pause, he tells the solution verbally and asks you to write the code. This is insane, every problem has multiple solutions and multiple ways to solve. It's very wrong to code your thoughts and also interviewer looks very impatient.
The third round was design discussion with the principal engineers and the two gentle were very decent and they know when to stop and ask more questions. I really enjoyed this discussion.
The fourth round was about behavior, they feel they have a great culture and ask a few common Q & A about challenges faced, etc. He continuously typing on his laptop and he is more focused on entering into his laptop than discussion. Thank God, it was very quick and got out of the Office.
Two coding rounds, one system design round, and two behavioral rounds. The process took 1-2 months in total. Once I passed, I was placed on-hold until new head-counts are available, after which I had a couple team match calls.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Atlassian (Sydney) in Sept 2024
Interview
6 rounds over 3 months, positive feedback for all interviews
(1 Karat + 2 Coding + 1 Sys Design + Values/Management)
Was told no hire because first coding interview did not display level of technical expertise, despite passing. Very disheartening result.

Question 1
Code Design: Implement a pricing system for Atlassian products (a-la Jira service)
The interview process was good; the questions asked were truly distinctive. It felt more like a conversation than an interview, and at the same time, the individuals participating in the interview were professionals.
