I applied online. I interviewed at Avanade (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2021
Interview
There were 3 interviews. The first one was with HR and was less of an interview and more of a general discussion about the role, company, etc. The 2nd interview was with a Sr Data Scientist and was based on more technical knowledge (ie what ML algorithm would you use if this was the problem you were solving). The 3rd interview was a bit more general, but still had technical questions about previous experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is the difference between supervised and unsupervised machine learning?
First had an interview with HR, which was a very unpleasant conversation. She pushed me to tell my current salary and my other offers, while I mentioned I felt uncomfortable to share. The second round was a more technical round. The interviewer did not try to make me feel comfortable, which is just maybe their approach. It was not a conversation but more a technical test.

Question 1
They asked the basic data science questions such as what is overfitting and explaining different types of models.
Two rounds of interview, both exactly the same. Rudely got told on the phone by a disgruntled recruited that I performed poorly, and that she would let me know the outcome in the future. Never got back to me
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Avanade (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2023
Interview
It starts with a recruiter screening to assess background and fit. This is followed by a technical interview with coding challenges or problem-solving exercises. A behavioral interview evaluates teamwork and adaptability. Finally, candidates meet with the hiring manager or a panel for a deeper discussion on technical skills and past projects.
