Recruiter connected me with the job through LinkedIn. Unimpressive and negative experiences include: - Position title was not shared transparently before the interview session with the hiring manager. - Job description was not shared transparently in black and white, but only through communication, ending up wrong expectation in candidate. - It was a virtual meeting, and hiring manager was not looking at the camera. - Candidate was looking at the wall in between the panels. - Candidate was only able to see 1/4 body of panels. - Hiring manager showed no interest, unprofessional and unrespecting when he put his palm on his face while listening to candidate. - Hiring manager aware of learning culture and challenges, yet his learning hours is zero and number of chance login to LinkedIn Learning is also zero. This showed hiring manager is not a supportive leader. - I'm aware of the challenge, yet I'm not ready to lead as an example. - Panels were incapable in providing upskilling example. Question asked by candidate was "If I'm successful and offered with this role, what would you suggest me to upskill so that I'm ready at the first day of my work". Suggestion for improvement: - If you are not interested to connect with a candidate, please be honest. You are adult, and you are not forced to do it. - Utilizing AI is good but understanding Adult Learning Theory and Learning Experience Design (LXD) are more important. - Share the position title and job description transparently in advance. Nothing to hide. - Attend Toastmaster meeting and understand the importance of virtual meeting experiences. - Be ready and supportive to lead as example. - Enhance your coaching skill, be ready anytime to provide and suggest relevant development pathway. - Understand what it means by learning and learning hours. Eg, Doing a reflection is a form of learning.
