      Project Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Axelerant (Boston, MA) in Jun 2020

      Interview

After I applied they kept sending me emails every few days asking me to fill out more and more questionnaires, without giving me a chance to talk with them and ask questions of my own. Then, after wasting my time on questionnaires, they sent me an email with the Subject Line: "Really a fit for Axelerant?" which said: "In looking at your application so far, I'm feeling that we weren't clear about our India-based for salaries and work timings. Explicitly, we expect people to typically have at least a five-hour crossover with the 11 AM to 7 PM India (UTC+05:30) timezone workday. Further, our salaries are typically 20% to 50% of American Project Manager equivalents. In your case, the range is topped at $24,000. Do you still want to move forward?" This information should have been included in the job description so that I didn't have to waste time applying and then responding to one questionnaire after another from them.

Summer 2020 we had drastically changed our recruitment process and for people like yourself, time was not well spent. And, I thank you for your patience during then. Further, we're going through another round of revamping to bring our questionnaire count down. Much luck to you in your career.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Axelerant (New York, NY) in Jun 2020

      Interview

The interview process consisted of multiple questionnaires and submission of a project. If you are an applicant residing in the United States, I strongly discourage you from applying. The salary range is $13k-$32k USD. This information is not disclosed until the end of the application process. You also have to be able to work a 5 hour crossover of Indias time zone. Once the salary was disclosed, I accepted the terms of the salary and hours because I wanted to see how the process would continue to go. Not even 2 hours after accepting, I get an email saying the PM position has been put on hold. However, because my application packet was NEARLY completed, I would be considered for an interview once if the process begins again. Salary and work hours should be disclosed in the beginning of the process. This will allow applicants an opportunity to decide if they would like to spend over a month completing the application process. I started the application process in June, 2020.

Thank you for the feedback here. You're right, at the time you were interviewed, we were revamping our process and as you mention, time was misspent by not disclosing the salary earlier on. We now do so at the second stage and during the first interview. I hope you've been able to find a better place to be.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Axelerant (Pune) in Jun 2019

      Interview

Applied for 5-6 positions which later went on hold over a period of 2 months. I received one interview email after 3 months after kept applying to various positions. Half knowledgeable kids will interview you, doesn't matter how experienced you are!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Interview started on time, appreciate it. There were few connectivity issues from interviewers end Mr Gohil but it's ok, it happens sometimes. However I strongly feel that neither I was understanding what the interviewer was asking nor he was understanding what I was telling. I think apply only if you are BA, BCom, BSc and worked only in small companies of 50-100 resources. They neither understand nor appreciate people from big companies which are way above them in knowledge. They also can't offer big salaries so apply only if you are earning lesser. I applied as I wanted work from home job due to my personal constraints. As I was just a Senior Project Manager with 15+ years exp, earlier worked with Infosys, CTS and TCS, I didn't know that Waterfall, Agile or Kanban are support models/methodologies. Waterfall, Agile or Kanban are project management methodologies. Was not aware that changes to the codes only needs to be done by support teams. Interview questions Tell me about urself salary expectations why want a job what is the CMMI certification what model you used in support projects Waterfall, Agile or Kanban! which project management methodology you followed, i.e. Waterfall, Agile or Kanban! How can u improve the project if change management is not done by support and passed to developer Half knowledgeable kids will interview you, doesn't matter how experienced you are!

Dear Applicant, I appreciate your writing to us with a series of events & feedback. We mostly take notes about people's communication during the Phone Screen stage and not their technical knowledge and thus I think my asking technical questions was my way of checking how you respond to those. I hope this will help you to get more clarity on our process. I wish you the best of luck for your future endeavors.
