      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 months. I interviewed at BAE Systems

      Interview

Applied in October and passed the initial tests. Heard nothing until I was informed in January that they are receiving a high influx of applications. Come February I had heard nothing still, so sent in a ticket to see how the process is going. No response to the ticket, until today I was told they are not interested in taking my application further. Absolutely awful that I had been waiting for so long and was ultimately ignored when I requested an idea of what stage my application was at. Furthermore I am a student with two internships of experience in Defence engineering and gained a First Class with Honours degree from a Redbrick. Fortunately I've accepted an offer with another Defence company, one whom actually cared for the talent they were searching for. Call me spiteful all you want, but if you want to join a company whose HR team obviously have no idea what they're doing, look no further than BAE systems.

      Graduate Development Framework Interview

      30 Jan 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at BAE Systems

      Interview

BAE have switched to a strengths based approach for their assessments. Hiring process: Online application (No CV): Simple to fill in. Verbal, Numerical, Situational Judgement Test: Untimed. Challenging but easier than most. 5 scenarios each, if I remember correctly. Telephone Interview: Strengths based interview followed by one business understanding question. Assessment Centre: Two day assessment. First day is graduate meet, company presentation, dinner and drinks. Second day is the actual assessment centre. It comprises of a group exercise, one to one interview, written exercise and a one to one presentation. All exercises are based around BAE's values. The one to one interview is strengths based with two technical questions. Overall the experience was really positive. BAE Systems hiring managers and facilitators were fantastic and really friendly. Seems like an awesome place to work.
