I was contacted by 3 different recruiters for 2 roles within the Engineering function at Warton. I was told by the recruiters that they wanted to interview me, though they didn't have a date for me at that time. I then received an email inviting me to interview for one of the roles, both interviewers had been told the interview was for their role. After some digging, they found that the interview was for both roles, and the interview pannel would be made up of the two hiring managers. Come the interview, only one hiring manager was there and he knew nothing about the other role. The interview was also late to start because their HR representative was having issues with their outdated Webex video conferencing system. I had prepared to be interviewed for both roles and was thrown when it was just for one, so I was rejected for the role, and have since heard nothing about the other. Likely dodged a bullet given the disorganisation throughout the hiring process.

Applied online then had a telephone screening and a face to face interview at Radway Green. 4 days after interview, I was contacted to say I needed to complete a technical exercise which took approx. 30 hours. When I submitted this, I was told I would “probably” hear back within a few weeks as the hiring manager was then out of the office on work travel. During this time, the vacancy was reopened online. I can only assume that the hiring manager was not on work travel but was actually interviewing new candidates, in the hope that they would find someone better, whilst fobbing me off with a technical exercise. It has been a month since the submission, and not a single person from BAE have contacted me. Very disappointed with this employer and would certainly not apply to roles with the company again.
