      Sales and Trading Summer Interview

      14 Jan 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Bank of America (London, England)

      Interview

Applied online, then had a telephone interview followed by an assessment centre which involved a group activity, a presentation exercise and two interviews. General questions involving mathematical brain teasers, estimate the tie revenue in the US, if you had £100,000 where would you invest it. The presentation was a stock pitch of your choice to either long or short, or to suggest a portfolio of several investments you think would increase in value over the next year.

Pretty classic phone screening process- asked a few questions about background in math/probability, and then about interest in markets. Asked me if I trade personally, too. Also asked questions about workplace experiences, tough times, general behavioral stuff.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bank of America (New York, NY) in Oct 2017

      Interview

The first round of interviews done via video software. There were only 5 questions and were generally behavioral. The next round was Superday interviews and entailed three back to back interviews with two analyst per interview. Questions were almost all behavioral and very much resume based. There were not brain teaser questions, and very few technical questions. I was asked to pitch a stock and was asked a bunch of market based questions.
