I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Best Buy (Portage, MI) in Oct 2012
Interview
Applying online begins the process. There's an online test that begins weeding out personalities that don't fit into a predefined category. If you pass, you'll receive a follow up phone call (how long depends on how desperate they are for workers). After that there's a short meeting with an Assistant manager (sometimes you can be hired directly from this interview). And finally you'll meet with the store manager. If offered the job you will be required to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
This process varies depending on what time of the year it is. If its near the fall holidays, expect the process to be very quick.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe the worst experience you've had with a customer and how you resolved that issue. What did you learn and how would you do things differently?
The interview process was straightforward and easy. Was told I got the job during the interview, and that they would reach out. They told me a start date and said they would get back with an exact time. Didn't reach out until two weeks after the start date they set and asked if I still wanted the job.
