I had an initial conversation with a recruiter about this role and left feeling encouraged — the call went well, and I followed up with a thoughtful thank-you email. Unfortunately, I never received a direct response. Weeks later, I received a generic, automated rejection email with no reference to our conversation or acknowledgment of my follow-up.
What felt especially disheartening was the disconnect between this experience and the company’s public messaging about being employee-led and people-focused. Those values should extend to the candidate experience as well. A brief, human acknowledgment would have gone a long way.
I hope the team re-evaluates how they engage with candidates, especially those who take the time to express genuine interest and align with the company's values.
