With everything coming out surrounding Boba Tea Protein and the founder, I thought I would additionally write about my interview experience.
I interviewed with the founder for the social media manager role where the first round was an hour. He proceeded to ask me very strange questions about my high school extracurriculars. I thought it was so off that he asked me my high school GPA… He then asked me what my suggestions for Boba Tea Protein would be, to which I asked what his past and present strategy had been. He said he didn’t want to tell me until I told him. I said my suggestion would be to increase awareness through various platform specific trends to grow their digital presence. He proceeded to cut me off to say that brands shouldn’t have to stand on trends or ride on other topics to be successful and should just be successful on their own. He asked me if i disagreed and ofc i did, but he said he felt firmly about his vision for their socials. It really seemed like he wanted someone to execute everything he wanted and not actually bring their own ideas to the table.
The whole interview he would respond with “thanks dude” and “cool, man” (mind you i’m a woman, and i’m not your bro) , which to me screamed unprofessional. I showed him nothing but professionalism and formality throughout the interview.
