      Manufacturing Planner Interview

      29 Mar 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Ridley Park, PA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Boeing (Ridley Park, PA) in Aug 2012

      Interview

I applied online, was called to schedule an interview, had a 20-minute phone interview with two managers using the structured interview technique. I received and accepted an offer of employment within a few days. I was hired to this position based on former work experience in aerospace and Boeing. The interview was an open, give-and-take conversation. I asked why my resume had been selected and what would be the one thing I could do that would put a gold star on my managers review. One manager told me my resume painted a picture of a can-do/will-do attitude; the other manager said he was impressed with my experience with many different business systems. The gold star question promoted a laugh and a direction I did my best to fulfill.

      Question 1

Because of my experience and the fact that it was a structured interview, I did not find any of the questions prompting me to assume the 'deer in the headlights' posture.

      Everett, WA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boeing (Everett, WA) in Aug 2012

      Interview

The company does a panel interview with three managers. It is a structured interview process using the STAR method. Plenty of sample questions can be found online. There were six questions asked, with the managers rotating on who asked the question. The managers were helpful in prodding me along when they were looking for more details. Each manager independently scores you, the scores are then averaged up for the hiring decision.
