One day after applying and sending my CV, I got contacted by one recruiter who asked me also to send a cover letter. One day after, I got contacted again and told they were not proceeding with the application because I was not located in Stockholm. - Why do you make someone waste his/her time writing a cover letter and then immediately reject him/her because of a piece of information already present in the CV? You could see my location already before I wrote the letter. - The motivation is ridiculous anyway. There are thousands of people relocating every day for job purposes. Furthermore, the position claimed to be hybrid, which means we could have arranged to work in distant mode temporarily until I could find a suitable place to live. - According to your logic, the whereabouts are more important than the Portfolio and the actual competence. Not a serious company, at least in terms of recruitment. I believe whoever is doing the first screening has no actual technical and IT competence, can't read a CV, and can't read a Portfolio, hence they use these shortcuts to arbitrarily reduce the number of applicants to evaluate. Or worse, this was just an elegant way to prioritize Swedish citizens without stating it.
