Be aware! It’s a trap!!! If this wouldn’t happen to me, I would say this is a joke, it was so beyond anything expectable.
After I applied, it was accepted by the owner, Zack Lefco. It went on in quite a freestyle way, we changed letter by letter and seemed that we largely see eye-to-eye in everything. Pretty much every detail was discussed, when I politely mentioned to include the topic of compensation.
Now, this role was advertised for up to $72k and 5.0% – 15.0% as a co-founder.
From that point, the word “shocking” would be the best to describe the following events. He agreed, and I got a letter with full of nonsense, I quote: “if you do good, I do good, vice-versa,” and that there is no payment at all, but I can get equity as a performance-based compensation.
Now, I couldn’t wake up from the shock early enough, and to see, is there any money at all, I offered a smaller project around $10k. No money for that too.
Basically, I wasted 2 days’ work overall and lost focus from other applications just to find out that the job advertisement is completely fake, and the guy has no money at all, as he wrote.
Such devastating experience... do a favor for yourself: skip.
