      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Brooksource (Detroit, MI) in Jan 2024

      Interview

I didn't have high hopes for the hiring process after getting a copy & pasted message on LinkedIn. I booked a time to talk to the recruiter and they rescheduled to a time that didn't work for me, and then didn't respond to me until it was the time they rescheduled to. After that, however, communication was great. There was the initial phone interview, and then 2 professional formal interviews over zoom. They were super supportive and reassuring, and made sure I felt ready to interview with the company that I ended up contracted at.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Brooksource (Austin, TX) in Jun 2018

      Interview

I got an email to set up an initial phone call with a technical recruiter. In that phone call, she explained the main position they thought I would be a good fit for. She asked some pretty standard questions about my background and what kind of position I am looking for. Overall was very friendly and helpful. She asked me to come in for an in person follow up with her a few days later. Asked similar questions about my background and experience, nothing difficult or unexpected. Part of this was also to prepare for the potential next (and final) round of interview with the hiring team. Later that day I got a call about setting up an interview the following morning with the hiring team. I had been informed throughout the process that this is when the final interview would be, so the timing wasn't a surprise. I then had about a 45 minute interview with the hiring team of the company that was using Brooksource to find a software developer. During this conversation, I realized the position and team weren't really what I was looking for. I emailed the recruiter the next day to let her know. Overall, it was a very quick and pleasant process. The recruiter I was working with was very friendly and helpful. I felt very informed during every stage of the process.
