I interviewed at Brown Manufacturing Group (Wyoming, MI)
Interview
Everything happened at once. First, second and third screening. As long as you're passing the preceding interviews they carry you on to the next one. A bit overwhelming but I guess that's how they want it to be
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A paper test one math and computer concepts. kinda a coding interview but more on syntax details than actual problem solving.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Brown Manufacturing Group (Wyoming, MI)
Interview
Glassdoor review: One of the experienced engineers asked about my experience, gave me a tour of the facility (the engineer's work area was very quiet) and gave me 15 minutes to take a written exam. Unless you are well-versed in all types of engineering, it will be difficult to ace this exam. I would suggest bringing a device with a data connection and ask if it is OK to use it as a resource during the exam. It was as if they were looking for someone with mechanical, software, AND electrical expertise.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There was an exam that covered math, mechanical, software, and electrical engineering. There were many questions. Here are a few:
What is the output from this piece of code (this question related to overflow)?
What is wrong with this piece of code?
Write some code by hand.
Draw a free body diagram for a weight being lifted by a lever.
Draw an op amp circuit and find its gain.
Write the Fourier transform for an op-amp circuit.
Calculate the power in a circuit.
What is positive feedback?
Which is better, negative or positive feedback?
Find a derivative.
Thermal calculations.
How do you calculate RMS voltage?
Most of the above questions weren't too difficult, but there were more questions that I don't remember because I probably got them wrong (I wasn't allowed to know the answers).
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Brown Manufacturing Group (Wyoming, MI) in Mar 2016
Interview
I applied through indeed.com. I had a phone call and asked me basic information about my education. Then, we scheduled a site interview. I met the HR and she was very friendly. She gave me a paper test. It took me 30 min to answer it. An engineer came in and he reviewed my answers and we talked about the salary and the culture of the company
