      I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at CARS24 Australia (Melbourne) in Jun 2025

      Interview

      Had three interviews in three days (phone, first stage (which they conducted in their car), and second stage). Spent almost three hours in total interviewing. What started as them extremely keen to fast track my application to then be ghosted. I was told in the first stage that after the second stage it would progress to references however in the second stage I was told there would be a third interview but they didn’t know who it would be when I asked (they threw some names around but said they weren’t too sure). Didn't hear back from them after my second stage interview, followed up, withdrew my application, and still no correspondence to this day, 3 weeks later. I was told a Senior HR Associate (Advisor) would be a more suitable title based on my experience and I was even told they got “approval” for an extra $5k from the $75-80k base salary being offered. They spoke enthusiastically about how “competitive” the salary was for the role compared to market and tried to justify that the annual bonus, phone and study allowance “bump it up”.

      Question 1

      First round was made clear they wanted a “cultural fit” and based the conversation predominantly about my personal life rather than understanding my experience and skillset. Second round with the Head of HR (based in India) asked a few basic typical situation based questions but no technical ER questions were asked. They could not engage in an in depth conversation with me about ER, and weren’t able to answer my questions properly. Eg when I asked about what the typical workload looks like and what common ER cases come through I was told “not to worry or stress about it” as “the work will get done” and “everyone is really friendly and helpful”. I’m not sure if a communication barrier or had no idea how to answer.
