I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CBRE (Sydney) in Oct 2016

      Interview

Fairly casual interview asked plenty about prior job experience (very similar role) and if i was capable of working alone as the office would be empty quite a lot. We spoke a lot about the market and their current appetite for deals, be warned you will want to come in knowing a lot about the role you have applied for - lots of industry knowledge was assumed in the interview. We also spoke about what my notice period was among other things, and went through my CV, we spoke for about an hour in a 1 on 1 interview, i had a phone screening interview prior to this with HR.

      Interview

The WORST HR experience that I have ever come across!!! I received an email inviting me for an interview 2 days later. My first interview was with the manager of the team I would be joining. It lasted around 45 minutes and was fine. I was told that I would hear back the next day or on Monday. Nothing. So I emailed HR and two days later was finally invited for a second interview. I was asked of my availability over the next few days, and I was fully available. I was then offered an interview for a week later. The second interview was with a senior director - it was meant to be with two directors but one could not make it which was highly unprofessional. This was on a Monday and I was told I would hear on the Friday. I had a pending job offer from another role, which I explained to HR fully, so needed to hear as soon as possible. They had no respect what so ever and made no attempt to let me know quickly. On the Friday when I had not heard I emailed in, no reply. On Monday I spoke to HR and was told that another woman in HR was now dealing with me and she had been off all of last week so had no answer yet. At this point I gave up and accepted my other offer. I was appalled. To make matters worse, another HR member called me two days later asking me whether I would be interested in another role in the company - it was a completely unrelated role that was of no interest to me - I apologised and said that I simply wanted to hear about the other position. He said I would hear within 24 hours. Of course I did not hear. And what is worse I still have not heard. Not even an email from HR to tell me that I didn't get the job, no feedback, nothing. I actually reached out to the initial manager that interviewed me and he was able to tell me that I did not get the job. What an appalling process and company that is obviously far too big to care about their future employees! I would not have accepted the job anyway.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Talked through my CV, my interest in real estate, why I wanted to work for CBRE, the current real estate market and some competency questions - when I had worked well in a team, how I deal with pressure.
