      Program Manager Interview

      22 Apr 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at CBRE

      Interview

Initial phone screen with recruiter the day following application. About 4 weeks later had a panel interview with hiring manager and two other account members. About a week later was given an offer. Interview was well conducted and the questions were unique and some challenging. Good mix of personality and subject matter questions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Describe a process that you've successfully implemented in your current role and how do you envision transferring that success to bring value to this new role?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CBRE in Dec 2023

      Interview

Sourcer/Screener contacted me without prior notice or appointment, then texted me an hour later that they wanted to conduct a "phone screen interview". I was unavailable that day so I scheduled the interview for two days later. The Sourcer/Screener no showed and then when I texted them asking about rescheduling, they apologized and said that they had an unexpected meeting come up and offered to speak an hour later, which I accepted. The "phone interview" was actually a screening and the Sourcer/Screener seemed to not have prepared at all and didn't seem to have any knowledge or reviewed my resume because most of the questions were on my resume. Also, I was asked why I wanted to return to CBRE, when I had never worked there before. I also had to repeat myself multiple times. Only two questions were actual interview questions and the whole screen took about 15 minutes. I was notified by phone almost two weeks later by the actual recruiter that the position had been filled. While I appreciate the extra touch of calling me to tell me I didn't get the job, the first process could definitely have been improved.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why do you want to return to CBRE? (then when I said I had never worked there the question changed to Why do you want to work at CBRE?). Who was your last employer and what was your last job title? What degree do you have? What City/State do you live in? How many years of HR experience do you have?

      Program Manager Interview

      27 Jan 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Columbus, OH
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at CBRE (Columbus, OH) in Dec 2018

      Interview

After completing the phone screen, I was invited to interview with the Director of Service Delivery, and another Program Manager. The interview went very well, and I got a call from the recruiter stating that they loved me and that an offer was pending. It was dependent on the launch date authorized by the new client. I kept in touch with the recruiter on a regular basis and even reached out to the Director of Service Delivery (who along with the Program Manager enthusiastically provided their phone numbers and extensions during the interview in case I had any questions) when I could not reach the recruiter. I got a phone call from the recruiter stating that I should contact the recruiter exclusively because "that's the way we do it here." Each time I got an answer, it was that the offer was pending the launch date. Last week, I sent an email to the recruiter asking about the status and they replied, "Thank you for your follow-up! We are making some changes to the role and taking this in a different direction, so for now it’s indefinitely on hold. Hope you have a great weekend!" I wonder when this was going to be communicated to me? Even this response does not state that I am no longer in the running for this position. I am confused and disappointed in communication around this situation. I am a professional and can absorb rejection and move on, but this unorthodox way of handling the selection process for this opportunity is like nothing I have experienced before.
