July 2019- Had a scheduled interview with controller, I was early, buzzed into reception, then signed in with receptionist to await the appointment. Two men I would not recognize again passed by during my wait, they said hello in greeting as they passed, I responded in kind While I waited, I made small talk with the pleasant young receptionist. A few minutes later the receptionist handed me her phone handset, it was HR apologizing that she just received a message that the controller was not coming in today due to a medical hospital emergency with the controllers young son. The interview would need to be rescheduled for next week, possibly Monday, same time. OK, I understand I said, I hope everything turns out OK. HR had left me a v.m. message apologizing as well as an email....the voicemail was left at the same time I was at their reception of Rabba Fine Foods./ CJR. The email from HR confirming the new interview time and once again apologizing for "unforeseen circumstances" which caused the cancelled 1st interview. I responded via em that I understood, these things happen....in the midst of my sending the email...HR again called, management had decided to put a freeze on hiring for this position altogether, due to some internal issues they wanted to get a handle on. I am disappointed but wish her and the company well. She sends me an email to confirm our conversation. All this within a 5 hour period. Hmm...do I think something is off with this whole production? What would you think if it were you? Dark skin, statuesque candidate suddenly cast off. I called back HR, asking for feedback if it were a problem with me as I am actively looking for a new role. I was assured it was not me at all, it was internal issues. OK. Checked online to find I am not the only interviewee to get stiff armed, this year by Rabba Fine Foods, but not Fine people. Where there are two people with the courage to speak out when treated shabbily, there are more who remain silent.
