Had a brief phone interview w/Dr Nowain who spoke in a calm eloquent manner expressing that he was more interested in a front of house person to handle the phones and clientele as if it were a high end hotel first & foremost, and since I had not had any experience in medical billing, insurances etc, he said that it did not matter as they would train the right person, they just cared about giving the Cx a hotel concierge experience which aligned with my background as I had been working with HNI for many years. The salary was not specified but he reiterated on the phone it was great compensation! I did like the look of the website & he had great reviews, so I thought I would explore further.
I arrived on time for the interview & honestly the aesthetics of the building in BH was the farthest thing from the hotel experience he was wanting to exude with incredibly dingy old hallways that had not been updated since the 60's. The inside of the office was your usual sub par doctors office, not at all what I expected...
I waited for 35 minutes to see him & the interview was pretty straight forward, it appeared that he was not sure if a person not having medical billing experience was going to be an issue? & he really did not want to hire two people instead of one, then it got to the great salary, he asked me what I think he should pay? seriously? & then said he was looking to pay between $15-$18 per hour, and also that his father & wife shared the office & you should pick up the phones for them too.
I really wished I had asked for the salary range up front; which is my own fault, as I seriously wasted my time with such a low ball wage.
