I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Coforge (Chennai) in Jun 2017
Interview
It was a waste of time even though it was a telephonic round. The interviewer seemed to be a teacher of java, who was asking all those bookish questions, constructor chaining, for loop while loop, object creation. Then he asked me a question for printing a triangle pattern, for which i suggested using while loop, & he started arguing that why can't we use for loop, to which i said that the complexity would remain same with both the loops, we can use any. Then he asked me the time complexity of binary search, and i said O(log n), they he asked me to explain this. so i was explaining through a binary tree & he said that i had to explain the binary search & not the binary tree...:D . I am lucky that it was a telephonic round & I had refused for a F2F earlier. Then he started asking me that why did you not use TestNG for regression testing, to which i responded saying that i had created a data driven automation framework, for which i really didn't need unit testing framework like testng. And as expected he didn't look satisfied....

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Coforge (Bengaluru) in Dec 2024
Interview
I would like to share my experience during the recent interview process at Coforge. While I appreciate the opportunity to interview for the position and understand the importance of a thorough evaluation process, I found certain aspects of the interaction disappointing and lacking professionalism.
Basic Information Gathering: It is standard practice to begin interviews by discussing a candidate's background, including their name, total experience, domain expertise, and proficiency in specific tools and programming languages. However, these fundamental questions were overlooked during my interview.
Irrelevant and Unstructured Questions: Some of the questions asked felt arbitrary and unrelated to the role or my profile. This approach not only lacked focus but also failed to assess my suitability for the position in a meaningful way.
Professional Conduct: An interview is a two-way process where both parties evaluate fitment. Unfortunately, the demeanor of the interviewer made the experience less constructive. A structured and respectful interaction would have been more conducive to effective communication.
