I applied online. I interviewed at Dataro (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2024
Interview
Interview process consisted of one 30 minute phone call, then one 45 minute video call and then one 45 minute panel interview. For the panel interview I was given an assignment to put together a 20 minute presentation on my marketing strategy to generate 150+ MQLs in the United States each month. I included this assignment in the questions below. I put a lot of time and effort into this presentation as I really wanted the job. After the panel interview, I was told they LOVED my presentation and wanted me to proceed to the final interview with the CEO. They even asked for professional references, which I provided. I patiently waited a week, then received a vague text stating that Dataro "wanted to close the position at this time to focus on internal growth." Fast forward two weeks later and the EXACT SAME job position is posted to LinkedIn. If you're interviewing for a marketing role at Dataro and they ask for any sort of presentation (essentially free work) I would decline. Extremely unprofessional of them to not only lie to candidates, but also make them work for free, waste their time, and get their hopes up.

Interview
A rather peculiar coding test experience:
* Despite being assured there wouldn't be a test akin to DomeTest, I was surprised to encounter one that followed those clichés was my test.
* The owner asked me to connect my computer to a big monitor in front of us and hover nearby, scrutinizing every breath and keystroke, while another employee took notes on the sidelines. Needless to say, it was incredibly distracting.
* Initially informed the test would last 90 minutes and Google was fair game, I was abruptly dismissed a mere 15 minutes into it.
* In essence, if the owner doesn't approve of your approach, you're swiftly shown the door, regardless of the allotted time. It's unclear what exactly meets his standards.
* This was undeniably the most awkward and futile interview process I've witnessed in my 20 years in the field.
Overall, considering the accounts shared here about this individual, I'm relieved it didn't pan out. It seems like a potentially problematic working environment.

Question 1
TestDome like test. To be done as described above.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dataro (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2024
Interview
- invited for in-person case study which lasted for 3 hours, they wanted us to do free prioritization work on actual problems they're encountering at the startup
- there were 4 candidates in total all cramped in one room trying to prep for this case study, founder made an inappropriate joke that it looks like battle royale. Doesn't help that all candidates are from the same POC group, weird power dynamic
- very manipulative and inexperienced founder, turned off by the whole experience and withdrew myself from the process
- some advice: as much as you're interviewing candidates, we are also interviewing you :)
