      Sales Interview

      22 Oct 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Datavations in Sept 2025

      Interview

Everything was going well... solid conversations, good energy, and real momentum. I made it to the final round and really felt the connection. There was great engagement, genuine curiosity, etc. I sent a thank-you note within the hour… and then, radio silence. Two weeks later, I followed up with the recruiter (asking if he has heard from them and giving them the benefit of the doubt, since that’s the timeline they mentioned). The recruiter told me they were supposed to reach out. (hmm but they didn’t... I immediate rechecked my email). He added that the team thought I did well but decided to move forward with someone else. (oh, interesting but I didn't get any thoughts/feedback nor a quick reply to my thank you note?) All fair. That’s part of the process. But not even a templated rejection email!? A simple note provides closure and shows respect for everyone’s time. If the feedback was truly positive, you’d think they’d want to stay connected. Plus, it’s a small world, and people cross paths again. A little courtesy goes a long way. Such an unprofessional way to end a late stage interview process.. lacking social graces and showing no professional business acumen.
