Interview
I completed three rounds of interviews: with the Hiring Manager, the Technical Manager, and finally with the Senior Director. Each stage went smoothly, and the feedback I received was consistently positive. I was told that I was highly familiar with the role and demonstrated strong knowledge of the responsibilities.
However, after those interviews, communication stopped entirely. Despite the encouraging feedback, I have not received any updates regarding my application. The silence has been disappointing, especially given the time and effort I invested in the process. At the very least, I would have appreciated feedback on what went wrong so I could continue to improve myself.
I applied on line.
On Thursday , I received a call from a recruiter. She discussed the job requirements, details, and salary expectations. She explained that the role required a background in Linux, Active Directory, and IIS.
At 3:54 PM EST, I received an email from her asking about my availability for a 30-minute meeting with the hiring manager on Wednesday. During the interview, the manager asked me the following questions:
Why do you want to join Delinea?
Why did you leave your last job?
How do you deal with an angry customer ?
Questions about Linux: Did you use Red Hat? Ubuntu? What were your duties?
Not even one question was asked about Active Directory.
What scripting languages do you know ?
The hiring manager seemed distracted and unfocused
The manager also mentioned that there would be another interview to assess my technical knowledge.
On Tuesday, I received an email stating that the hiring manager enjoyed speaking with me, But he does need stronger Linux and Active Directory skills.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Delinea (Washington, DC) in Nov 2021
Interview
First round was to be interview with Hiring Manager and afterwards scheduled another slot with 2 hour test a few days later. First meeting email did not have Zoom link. I noticed and alerted recruiter 30 minutes prior. I suggested for them to resend, or call my listed phone number. No call, no return email.
(Someone from Thycotic did check out my LinkedIn page 5 minutes after interview was to start.) So...curious I am hanging out waiting...I had to get back to my job, so I gave up waiting for them after 20+ minutes. I received a tepid reply later that day saying that they "tried" to reach me but couldn't. (ha ha, right!)
Rescheduled initial interview, there was a proper Zoom link this time, and interviewer was late by 10 minutes. Supposed to be for 45 minutes, but hiring manager informed me he needed to cut it short by 10 minutes to pick up his child. So... a 25 minute meeting. It went well, but no time for follow up questions from me.
They scheduled a 2 hour time for me to take the test via VM. Again, the hiring manager arrived almost 10 minutes late. The test itself was a fair test. There was a glitch in my VM, and manager was surprised at the error I received with the admin control. I knew the correct answers and could tell him, but couldn't enter some of them from CMD prompt. Seems like no one cleared /checked the device prior to testing. Afterwards the manager discussed the test questions, and any I may have gotten wrong. It was a fair test, and he knows his stuff and what he is looking for in a candidate.
I would have considered working for this company, it seems to be exactly the type of applications I am interested in working with, but with all the opportunities out there right now, there are red flags with how they treated me and my time. It seems fraught! They do not seem to have an efficient culture. I had to pass.

Question 1
SQL, Powershell, CMD, research and apply different questions. It was a fair test, no complaints about it.
