I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dollar General (Ocean Springs, MS) in Feb 2015
Interview
I went in for an Assistant Manager position got offered a cashier position because they couldn't paid me the salaried requested and they want to test me out to see my work ethics before going full time? I barely got a chance to speak, the Store was understaffed and I had the experience. I was asked no question whatsoever, just if I was okay with little over minimum wage to start out....

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Dollar General (Greer, SC)
Interview
Very easy, not professional. Ask a few general questions and talk about responsibilities. Make sure you have your own vehicle to go to the bank. There are no excused call outs. Then walk you around the store.
Very laid back. Gave a lot of details on the job I was interviewing for. They did a good job of explaining the hours and what shift I would be on most of the time. Very accommodating on interview time slots available.
