An Unexpected Outcome: My Interview Experience with E-Joy English
After hearing that the company urgently required tutors, I quickly messaged the owner on WeChat. He requested that I send him my resume and a self-introduction video, which I immediately did. After a few days, I followed up with him, and he set me up with two 'volunteer' students—a 6-year-old and a 7-year-old—for individual demo classes. I didn't receive any platform training, though there were some old, generic YouTube videos offering teaching advice.
During the first demo lesson, there was a hiccup with the sound, but overall, I believe it went smoothly. Having gained some experience with the platform, I felt much more confident in my second demo lesson, where the student and I had a great time. The story was about dinosaurs, and I used toy dinosaurs to reenact the story with the student. She was thrilled! Overall, it was a superb lesson.
A few days later, I followed up with the owner, and he informed me that I wasn't "proper" for the company. When I asked for more details, he said that my demo classes were "boring."
