I first met with the recruiter, followed by the VP of Marketing. I was then to move on to the next phase of the process; using very specific direction, create a strategy and plan and present it to the Executive Team; the President, CEO and COO. I completed the assignment, sent it in and an interview day and time was scheduled. It was then scheduled and rescheduled 5 more times!! All at the very last minute, and the final time 15 minutes before the interview was set to begin. This was all done immediately prior to and within the holiday week. I foolishly rearranged my schedule every time to accommodate them. When I finally did meet with the ET, only 2 members of the team where there, the President, Joshua Kahn, and the CEO, Adam McKind. Josh was the first on the video call; he took it from the gym! And went off camera the entire time so that he could work out. I went through the presentation, some questions were asked, and at the end Josh asked a few questions, the last of which was, 'How many coffee cups are there in NYC?' He told me asks this in an effort to see 'how I think'. The strategy and plan, along with our conversation told you that. It was absolutely ridiculous. Immediately following us getting off the call, I contacted the recruiter to let her know I was removing myself from consideration. The amount of disrespect and condescension that was shown for a Chief Marketing Officer role is beyond anything I've ever experienced in my 25 year career.
