Long interview process. Approx 6-7 interviews, with 3 of them back to back in the same day. Technical questions were really fun and interesting! Met with recruiter, then hiring manager, then tech leads.

Question 1

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Electronic Arts (Redwood City, CA) in Sept 2025
Interview
The first part of the interview was to just describe what I do at my current role from a high level, which was perfectly fine or an interview. They followed up by saying that we would move on to a behavioral section, but then didn't ask me a single actual behavioral question, only things like if I would be open to 10% travel and if I would be okay with paying for myself if I needed to relocate (This really didn't even need to be asked as I was already a resident of the area this job was posted for).
The technical part of the interview was more trivia focused. There were random questions about aspects transformers, RNNs, etc., but the role description didn't include a single thing about deep learning. At one pointed I was asked to describe why L1 or L2 regularization would be better for "a scenario" but was not given a scenario to describe. There were a lot of awkward instances like this throughout the conversation where I got the impression that the interviewer was really not prepared to interview me for the role that they were hiring for. I was anticipating being asked actual questions about how I think, not trivia
