I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Empify (Atlanta, GA) in Aug 2025
Interview
One positive I can mention is that Empify’s team was very quick to respond when scheduling interviews and providing updates afterward. The process moved along efficiently.
Unfortunately, my actual interview experience was very disappointing. As soon as the CEO joined the video call, her body language and tone were noticeably negative, which set an uncomfortable tone for the conversation. She did not appear engaged or interested in being there, which made me question whether I wanted to continue the process at all.
I was also surprised that she made no effort to highlight the company’s culture, values, or opportunities—things you’d expect any leader to communicate when speaking to potential talent. Instead, the energy felt discouraging and unprofessional.
In addition, based on my research and what I gathered during the interview, the company seems to lack a healthy work-life balance. Many of the Glassdoor reviews reflect this, and unfortunately, my experience aligned with those concerns.
Overall, while their scheduling efficiency was good, the interview itself left a feeble impression of both the CEO and the company.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
For example, one of the only questions I was asked was simply, “What do you do in your current role?"
I spoke with the CEO - she asked a few standard questions, but seemed put off that I also had questions.
Proceeded to tell me “I don’t believe in a work-life balance” and that “salary is based on how well the company is doing and whether or not [she] felt a connection/liked your personality”. She was 10 minutes late and hung up in the middle of the interview.
She’s had 3 assistants in the past year.
