I had a call asking to come in, I asked if I needed to bring anything and they just said to bring myself. I didn't feel like it was for an interview but more a getting to know you kind of process. I was asked the general customer service questions, it seemed all over the place and not very professional however, I was called 15 minutes after leaving asking to come in for a trial the next day, again I asked if I need to bring anything with me which they said no. I had no idea what we would be doing for the trial but I ended up being put in one of the rooms and left to solve the puzzles on my own, I didn't do very well with the puzzle but I was then asked to do this another 3 times along with setting the room back up afterwards and I felt I done very well with this ad memorised everything quickly. Finally they completely messed the room up I was in alone for almost 4 hours, by moving all the clues into a different place, the locks and furniture.. I put everything back together very quickly and only missed one thing.
Within a few hours of leaving this trial I had a phone call advising I had not been successful and I asked for feedback, they said that the manager said no.. so when I asked to elaborate they went on to say they found it upsetting how long it took me to solve the first puzzle and I was very slow. I said that in the job description it mentions you don't need to be good at puzzles and the only requirement is 2 years customer service experience which I have.. they went on to say okay and good bye, then put the phone down.
My overall summary is that this company doesn't seem very professional and basically told me I am slow, then put the phone down.
If you are offered a trial be prepared for at least 4 hours of your time to be taken and bring some lunch.. I would have appreciated this advice when they called me in. Don't expect any constructive feedback.
