I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at FTI Consulting (Washington, DC) in May 2019
Interview
7 rounds of interviews (after the phone screen!) - 3 on the phone before 4 separate in the office. (They definitely should have combined the office interviews. Several people were not prepared and were asking the same questions as everyone else or were looking at the resume the first time during the meeting.)
Initial call with recruiter to ask about interest and why FTI, This was then followed up by 4 rounds with team members across different grades - directors, partners etc, In each round, there was a case study as well as a behavioural component. They like to really dive deep into past experience and your interest in the role.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why FTI? Why this role? Why this industry? Why you?
Recruiter phone screen
30min Behavioral interview - asked more technical questions than I was expecting based on what the recruiter told me
Technical interview - in person
Final Round - did not make it to this round
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at FTI Consulting
Interview
Possibly the worst recruitment process i have ever experienced.
The emails were extremely unprofessional, with no content, titled 'Hi from FTI' asking me to set up interviews with no proposed dates or named stakeholders. At times, i had to chase multiple times before any response to set up a following interview.
After a lengthy process and difficult communication, and interviewing with 7 different stakeholders, a generic email was given, with no feedback.
Based on this experience, i would not have taken a job at FTI.
