There is no recruiter, you talk to a team lead/manager initially. They talk about the company and tell you to hold questions to the end, since they want to video record your conversation. After that is over, you ask questions as they record.
Immediately this started with the man I was talking to misgendering me even though my pronouns were clear in my application. When I corrected him he did not even apologize. Just ignored it.
After that he did not ask one question about me. It felt rude and likely a reflection of what his team is like. I was amazed that your potential manager wouldn't ask one question about you.
Overall I was really disappointed. I think their product is really interesting and would have loved to work on it.
They did not offer me another interview, likely because I asked about work-life balance and he spun me a yarn that felt sorta like he was stretching the truth. He told me that they do not pay out PTO unless you request it and it is not approved, which from what I understand might be straight up illegal.
Anyway, I don't think I wanted to continue in the process after this first interview. The vibes were way too bad for me to continue.
