      Graphic Designer Interview

      10 May 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Phoenix, AZ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Fascinations (Phoenix, AZ) in May 2019

      Interview

There was virtually no interview process. I submitted my resume and cover letter, and was immediately contacted for a phone interview, which was a screening that lasted about a half hour. Soon after, I was invited to interview in person with the CEO of the company, Troy Piazza, at a time set less than a week later. On the day of that interview, I was emailed two hours prior and told the CEO had left for the day, and I asked to reschedule. These things happen, so I happily agreed. The interview was moved to two days later, and was confirmed. I drove 40 minutes to the company's headquarters and arrived to an office that was completely dark with the lights out, and a receptionist walked in from a back room and greeted me. I explained I was there for an interview with Mr. Piazza, and I was told that he had left for the day. With no prior warning or a heads up for me, who had now taken two afternoons off from my current job to meet with him. 48 hours later, after emailing the talent recruiter I had the phone interview with, I was told the position had been filled. Frankly, I feel I dodged a bullet. This is certainly no way to conduct business or find and hire talent for any sort of position. The company clearly has no respect for the time of their prospective hires, and I can't imagine what it would have been like an actual employee.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

General, vague questions about my experience and job history.
