I interviewed at First Derivative (Dublin, Dublin)
Interview
Straight forward- 30 minute online interview. Very friendly and tried their best to get the most detailed description from interviewee. Average difficulty nothing asked that was out of the usual rotation of questions.
Positive experience
Easy interview

I interviewed at First Derivative (Belfast, Northern Ireland)
Interview
Short 30-minute get-to-know-you interview. First stage of the process. Asked basic questions about who you are, what you have done, why you are interested in the role, and a time you have had to work as part of a team
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at First Derivative (Belfast, Northern Ireland) in Aug 2025
Interview
I applied for the Graduate Analyst role. I was invited to an assessment centre, which included a one-to-one interview and a group exercise. At the start of the session, we were told that the assessment centre was only required for the Graduate Analyst role. I was later informed that I had passed this stage.
Afterward, I was invited to a second interview for the Graduate Engineer role, even though I had not applied for it. I assume this was due to my software engineering background and degree. During the interview, I clarified to the panel that my application was for the Graduate Analyst role, not the Engineer role.
While the intial interview was professional and approachable, the communication and process left room for improvement. Despite being told I passed the assessment centre (which was the required step for the Analyst role), I waited over three weeks before finally being told that another candidate had been chosen. Extremely frustrating
