      Customer Service Representative Interview

      6 Dec 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Coventry, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Funko (Coventry, England) in Nov 2019

      Interview

I applied online and was offered a phone interview a week later. They require you to speak one other European language and I offered German. I had not heard from them for 3 weeks to I sent them a follow-up email which they did not reply to. So I sent a thank you email for the interview and suggested their salary seemed very high (£25-£30k) for a Customer Service Rep. They then wrote back and said it is the salary. I wrote back and said is it the basic guaranteed salary to which they replied it is. I saw that they re-advertised the job again you see that's why I emailed them. I just said, OK if you want to interview me again then contact me and this is my second language. I haven't heard a word. I don't know who they are expecting to get who speaks German too but perhaps there are some young blonde native speakers around this area with the voice to go with it. Who knows what they want!

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Funko (Coventry, England)

      Interview

Applied online for a job at their Coventry offices and got an email to say I had gotten through to the next stage which was a pre screen telephone chat. It wasn't an interview per se, just a way to get to know more about me. It went as well as could be expected, not amazing but not awful either. I was told my details would be passed on to the hiring manager and that I could expect to hear back in the next week. I'd read reviews on Glass Door previously and came to the conclusion that Funko is all about the ghosting if they're not interested in you. Knowing this, I wasn't expecting a follow up nor did I get my hopes up. I also noted how the emails didn't come from a direct email address, no telephone number in the signature and the call also came from a withheld number which showed how difficult it would be to chase them up. Predictably, I didn't hear a word which honestly I wasn't too fussed about it. It sounds like a truly awful company to work for regardless of how "fun" their products are. Their hiring practices need a lot of work and by the sounds of it, the staff turnover is very high which speaks volumes.
