In 2020 the interview consisted in a short phone call with Team Leader, a small technical examn and a final video call with the CEO and Team Leader.
At the exam I needed to build a simple scraper, and a webpage in Bootstrap + javascript to render all the scraped items.
I was contacted by email asking for my interest about the role and the company and announcing a tech test to be completed in the next couple of days. I replied positively. Then I was again contacted by email asking for the salary range I was expecting - just like that, out of the blue, without even discussing anything about the role, the company, or my experience. The never shared their salary range. So I replied giving them a number. A third email popped up saying that my number was too high for them and that was it. I politely asked how much they were offering, never heard back. My guess? Probably another company looking for remote workers in cheaper countries so that they can pay a meager 10% more than their local markets.
