      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at GAMEGOS

      Interview

After the interview with HR, they sent me a case work. The file they provided was not properly organized. I had to spend part of the time allocated for animation on organizing the Photoshop file. After completing and sending the animation, HR invited me to an in-person interview with the managers at the office. She insisted excessively on scheduling the meeting as soon as possible, even though I mentioned I had other commitments for the date she insisted on. She was disrespectful to the point of asking me to reschedule my plans. When I went to the office, I was kept waiting in the meeting room. The two managers who came late hadn’t even reviewed my CV beforehand. Professional people prepare for meetings, but the managers were clearly as unprofessional as HR. One of the managers didn’t even look at me during the interview, didn’t speak, and spent his time scribbling on the letters of my CV details. The other guy asked unrelated and unprofessional questions, with little eye contact, mostly about where I was born and raised, my family, my high school education, whether I smoke, and so on—questions irrelevant to my work experience and projects. He also mentioned that despite opening an animator position, I would also be expected to do 3D modeling, illustration, and other tasks not mentioned in the job posting. As a senior with 15 years of experience, I found it inappropriate for them to request tasks outside the role, even though I do have skills in other areas. If those things were mentioned on the job description, it was okay. They couldn't answer some of my questions related to their pipeline, working calender, backup systems and other technical details altough one of the guys was responsible for these kind of matters. It was clear that this company is run by disrespectful and narrow-minded managers who got their position not because of their skills but because they knew or are the founders and/or were there during the establishment phase, where your expertise doesn’t matter and they expect you to follow instructions without question. I decided to reject the opportunity if it progressed and they made an offer. Luckily, they are so unprofessional that instead of providing any kind of feedback —positive or negative— they simply chose to ghost me. It might be worth a try for juniors as a starting point, but unfortunately, it’s not a team for mid or senior-level professionals with self-respect.
