The interview consisted of a good mix of technical and personal questions. For instance, I was asked to write a small snippet of code to calculate the summary statistics (mean, median, mode, standard deviation and big N) in the R language without the use of any in-built functions. It was very relaxed and informal.

Simple but smart questions. they really look for good communication skills and great behavioral skills. they look for a good team player and should possess good programming skills. if you are applying for statistics, they want to know if you have learnt stats concepts well in your collage. if you are experienced stats, make sure you know about good number of Procs in SAS for stats. for programmers, proc sort, transpose, means and report is required to know. learn about functions and retain concepts. it can help you solve the questions. if you earn a certification, it will be plus.
