      Res Specialist Interview

      22 Oct 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (Dallas, TX) in Oct 2024

      Interview

The process started off well enough with a very helpful HR rep and I did two interviews with them. However, the final one was with their supervisor, and they honestly ruined the experience for me. I feel the first rep prepared me well for the interview, but it felt like the second would ask trick questions or basically set me up for failure. The 2nd rep lacked a lot of active listening while demanding it at the same time. It was a grueling process and there was emphasis on the STAR method which I believe I did well on. But continuously having to clarify things to an interviewer because their questions are so vague is frustrating. I get that it may be due to underlying testing for the role itself, but it feels very discouraging to have someone misinterpret or not actually listen to the details of my description.

      Res Specialist Interview

      20 Aug 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner in Aug 2024

      Interview

I feel validated after learning that other people who interviewed for the role also found the interviewers to be rude. During the prescreening interview, I experienced a bait-and-switch situation. Initially, I was told I would need to be in the office one day a month. However, the next interviewer mentioned that I would be in the office a few days a month at most for team-building days. The final interviewer then stated that I would be in the office at most once a week, and it would be a normal workday. This dishonesty was my first red flag, but what ultimately turned me off from the company was the lack of professionalism. My interviewers were late in calling me for each interview. They scheduled every interview at an incorrect time, disregarding the time zone I noted in each email. Throughout each interview, they were extremely rude and condescending. In addition to almost two hours of content they expect you to watch to prepare for the interviews, they also require candidates to complete a final 90-minute interview. None of these people have worked under the job title or department you're interviewing for, by the way. You will meet with an "LSA," who is just another recruiter, and two other recruiters. I was also considering withdrawing my application due to their poor attitudes. Ironically, these individuals are supposed to assess how professional you are during the interview process. Please teach your recruiters that punctuality and manners are a part of professionalism.
