I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ground Signal (Denton, TX) in Jul 2025
Interview
The process started with a screening call where I was asked to introduce myself and share how comfortable I am with core data engineering concepts. The first round was straightforward and conversational.
For the second round, I was given a take-home assignment with three files to clean, transform, and convert into a proper format within 24 hours. I completed and submitted the task on time.
I was rejected after this stage, and the feedback I received was that the team was looking for a higher level of attention to detail, and my results didn’t fully meet their expectations.
The process was clear and timely, but the take-home assignment felt a bit rushed with the 24-hour deadline. It tested practical skills, but also required precision and thoroughness. The feedback could have been more specific so I could improve for future opportunities.

Question 1
How do I collaborate and translate my insights to a non-technical team?
I had a first round phone screen interview which went well, interviewer told me this position was to learn and grow as a developer and if they did well enough they would be hired fulltime and that they hired based off how you are as a person and not much technical, he gave me a project to do which took a week to complete, the second I finished presenting they rejected me just saying along the lines of the gap I had was too big in terms of experience and that their technology was too complex for me to work on, I felt like this was something they could have told me before I wasted my time doing a project when these questions should have been asked in the first round so I didnt waste a week doing a project for absolutely nothing. Very hard to not show my frustration towards the end.
