      Experienced Associate (Data Science) Interview

      28 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Washington, DC
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Guidehouse (Washington, DC) in Jan 2019

      Interview

There was first a simple phone interview with some basic technical screening questions. I then went to the office in person. There were three interviews, one with a director, and two with separate managers. The director asked simple questions about my previous work. The second asked me to whiteboard two stats problems, which caught me off guard - I really should have prepared for those. The third asked some conceptual data science questions. I didn't hear back from them for about a month, and then they called me out of the blue to give me an offer. The process was strange, though - I'd applied for a data science role and they transferred me to an "associate" position, and then they offered me less than market rate for the position. I ultimately declined.
