Guideline interview questions

Recruiter was awesome. He communicated well throughout the entire process and I knew what to expect. However, the first round with design manager was vague questioning and it was unclear how I was evaluated.

Got a ping from the recruiter shortly after replying. Had a 30-minute phone call. Pretty standard stuff about job history, interest in the role, compensation. She went into good details about the process and next steps. Got an automated email 2 days later that I was out of the running. Followed up about info and ghosted. Why have the phone screen then?
