Interview
Interview Process:
I had an interview experience with Hala (KSA) that started off positively but ended on a disappointing note. After completing the interview process, I received a verbal offer over the phone from HR. During the call, they detailed the benefits package and assured me that the formal offer would be sent to me via email shortly.
After waiting for the email and not receiving it, I followed up to check on the status. To my surprise, I received a message stating that they had decided to move forward with another candidate.
Feedback:
This experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Being verbally offered a position and provided information about the benefits, only to later be informed that they chose someone else, is confusing and reflects poorly on their recruitment process. It creates unnecessary false hope and wastes the candidate's time.
What’s even more concerning is that this seems to be a common theme for Hala (KSA). I came across another review describing a similar situation, where a verbal offer was made, but the company later retracted it without proper explanation. This pattern raises questions about their consistency and reliability in handling candidates.
Advice to the Company:
Avoid making verbal offers unless they are finalized and approved.
Ensure proper follow-through after offering candidates a position.
Communicate changes in decisions with clarity and respect for the candidate's time and effort.
Review internal recruitment processes to prevent recurring issues like this.
Outcome:
Unfortunately, I would not recommend Hala (KSA) based on this experience. The lack of professionalism and recurring patterns of similar behavior leave much to be desired and make it difficult to trust their organizational processes.

Interview
I had an extremely disappointing experience with HALA’s hiring process. After multiple rounds of interviews, I received a verbal offer over the phone, only to be blindsided the following week by an email stating they had chosen another candidate. This level of inconsistency is unprofessional and shows a lack of respect for candidates' time and efforts.
Companies should understand that a job offer—verbal or written—creates expectations and commitments. Revoking it without explanation reflects poorly on their integrity and internal processes. Candidates deserve clear and transparent communication, and HALA failed miserably in this regard.
Proceed with caution if you're considering applying here. Their disorganized approach to recruitment might give you false hope and waste your time.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Hala (Saudi Arabia)
Interview
- Screening
It was straight forward questions about the candidate background and his tech stack.
- Technical
It was long and about everything in regards to backend, not too technical though,
My reflection about the interview: I have wasted time going through the process as they didn't seem to be seriously recruiting. It seems to me that they are just a bunch of seniors trying to practice how to interview and follow interview trends,
My reflection about the interviewee: Met a disrespectful interviewee with all due respect as they've wasted candidates time without even getting back to them after taking the stupid long interview process, and stalling candidates for months.

Questions were about everything in regards to the stack they're looking for. Some questions were fintech/banking questions.
