The interview was scheduled very quickly—within a week. However, the panel members seemed disconnected from the job posting and the actual requirements for the role. During the interview, they mentioned that they were only looking for Aruba ClearPass knowledge, which was not clearly stated in the job description.
The interviewers asked deep packet-level questions, which I answered to the best of my ability. However, they did not respect my scheduled interview time. I was originally booked for 1 hour and 30 minutes, but without asking for my permission, they extended it to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Initially, I thought the extension was a positive sign—that perhaps I had performed well—but I was wrong. After the interview, I was ghosted for four weeks with no response. Eventually, I had to persistently follow up with the recruiter and demand some professionalism in providing feedback. Only then did she reply, stating that they had selected another candidate—though I know that wasn’t true because the role is still active on LinkedIn.
If you're just looking to pass the time, you can go ahead with this interview. The interviewers mainly ask textbook questions and won’t engage in discussions about real-world scenarios. For instance, if you have experience with Cisco ISE, they won’t ask how you managed it—they will just stick to theoretical questions. Also, don’t let them extend your interview time because they almost certainly will.
Overall, if you know A, B, C, and E but don’t know D, they won’t select you.
