Met on video Teams call. Discussed my background and how it may fit for a project based employee. I qualified to be put on the hire list. Hoping to hear the project is a go.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hilltop Advisors (McLean, VA) in Jan 2017
Interview
The HR screening was pretty standard. The first question I was asked was salary history. Be careful here as they will lowball you so make sure your answer is in the range of what you want to make. They claim that they verify previous salary info but really they don’t, it’s just a ploy to pay you the absolute minimum amount possible.

The best analogy I can give to describe the interview is imagine the most pushy used car salesman you’ve ever encountered who immediately gives you bad vibes and yet somehow an hour later you find yourself driving off the lot in the crappy used car they sold you and you want to kick yourself because you saw all the red flags and somehow allowed yourself to be talked into accepting an offer when your gut told you to get up and walk out!
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hilltop Advisors (McLean, VA) in Aug 2016
Interview
The CEO basically spent half the time blabbering on and on about himself and the other half giving me a hard sell on why I should join. I stupidly ignored my gut feeling and accepted the offer. It turns out nothing I was told in the interview was true.

Question 1
There were no questions, which should have been a red flag.
