I was encouraged to apply for a job for which I was well qualified. I was contracted by the Recruiting Contractor and told that she would set up a time for a phone interview. And then crickets and more crickets. I circled back to the Contractor and was told that they were trying to promote an internal candidate and no longer wanted to talk to me. Okay, I guess I should have asked that question during the initial exchange and I could have saved both of some aggravation. I was underwhelmed by the communication skill and general lack of professionalism displayed by the Contractor and not impressed that Hilton was willing to let this person represent their company.

I met with both the ADOS & DOS. Although they felt I wasn't the best candidate for this position they tried to match me with an alternate opportunity. This is an "above & beyond" and "can do" example, both are crucial in the industry for success.
