I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Housing and Community Development in Jun 2021
Interview
The notification of the interview was provided by non management staff member and came with some challenges as to receiving documents to sign pre interview (via email). Once that issue was resolved it went well interview wise. The panel was pleasant and questions were not too difficult to answer appropriately. The big thing that was a problem is they want three former managers to provide references and if you have a non responsive former boss, it will be a issue and you will have to go back further in your job history to find another manager to provide the reference required to get hired.

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Housing and Community Development (Sacramento, CA) in Oct 2020
Interview
Panel Interview with approximately 3-5 people, some positions will require a written test or excel. Make sure you read the actual Duty Statement prior to the interview so you know the Department and types of duties that would be assigned to you. ALL interviewees are scored based ONLY on the actual answer given, so if you are not up to par on your interviewing skills you probably will not score high enough
