Unprofessional and disorganized
I applied for a position at HulkApps and received a phone call informing me that they would send a task for me to complete—without any prior discussion about salary expectations or the role itself, which I found a bit unusual. The task itself wasn’t too difficult—redesigning a landing page and creating social media posts—but still required time and creative effort.
After submitting my work, I received a generic rejection email. A few minutes later, I got another email apologizing, saying the rejection was a mistake and that they actually wanted to proceed with me. They invited me to an in-person interview at their office in the next few days. Since I had a valid reason for being unavailable, I let them know that I could still make time if the position was urgent. The HR representative reassured me that there was no rush and that I should just reach out once I was available.
About a week later, as soon as I was free, I sent them multiple time slots for a call. And then... nothing. No response. They just ghosted me.
I wasn’t too invested in the role since it required office work, but their behavior was completely unprofessional. They made me go through the task and presentation, assured me they weren’t in a hurry, and then disappeared without a word. It’s one thing to reject a candidate, but to ghost someone after they’ve invested their time and effort is just plain disrespectful. Definitely a red flag in terms of how they treat people.
