I recently went through the interview process and unfortunately found it to be below expectations for a leadership role. The questions asked required only base-level knowledge, which did not align with the responsibilities of the position.
Throughout both interviews, first with the recruiter and then with the hiring manager, I was not given an opportunity to ask questions or discuss my concerns. The hiring team appeared disengaged and uninterested in addressing any inquiries I had about the role or company.
Communication from the recruiting team was also lacking. Despite having two interviews, I received no updates regarding my application status. Professional courtesy in keeping candidates informed was missing from the process.
I was later informed by someone else in their team that I lacked experience with certain services and platforms, even though I had clearly outlined my extensive experience with most of their technologies during the interview. This raised concerns about how candidate qualifications are evaluated.
The hiring manager seemed to lack the technical knowledge needed to assess candidates and was unfamiliar with several industry standards I mentioned.
The overall experience felt unstructured.
