I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ignek Infotech (Ahmedabad) in Apr 2025
Interview
Interview focused only on JavaScript, not React, and ended without assessing relevant framework skills
The interview was for a React developer role, but the questions focused entirely on JavaScript fundamentals. There was no discussion about React or related front-end architecture.
While a coding task was included—and I was able to implement most of it—the emphasis remained on language-specific behavior like lexical scope, hoisting, and closure mechanics, rather than real-world application design or problem-solving in a React context.
Key practical topics such as structuring components, using custom hooks, managing state in complex forms, or handling API failures were never discussed.
As someone with hands-on React experience, I felt the interview did not reflect the actual day-to-day responsibilities of the role. The technical depth was appreciated, but it missed evaluating applied knowledge of the framework itself.
Advice to the team: For a React position, consider balancing foundational JavaScript questions with practical front-end topics like component design, state management, performance tuning, and real application scenarios. This will help better assess the skills needed to succeed in the role.
